Jonathan, writer of songs and poetry, sailed across the Atlantic to New York City, made his debut album How To Live Forever (2024), toured in Europe, the US and Canada, then moved to Berlin, where he ran into a wall and renewed his approach as a singer-songwriter. The new record marks an evolution from the literary songs that carried his debut towards a fresh, very electric and diverse turn on folk-rock. Mundane and tender, sometimes elating, Jonathan’s sophomore album surprises with hiding-songs for lost lovers, apocalyptic trip-hop visions of the present day, and in moments where his live band shines brightest three chords are pushed fearlessly into the ecstatic rock’n’roll of the 2020s.
